Welcome to St Peter’s United Church! Here, you will find a vibrant community of those who follow the Way of Jesus. We are inspired by our worship, guided by the liturgical calendar and the rhythms of the cosmos. We are energized by Christ’s mission, and you will find us serving in many ways throughout our community, and participating in the mission of the United Church of Canada throughout the world. We are curious, and seek to nourish our spiritual growth together in a variety of reflection groups and learning sessions throughout the year. We seek to be an inclusive and welcoming community, considering the spectrum of age, “ability”, sexual orientation and gender identity to be the blessed rainbow of God’s presence and Christ’s body on earth.
Please find our newsletter - This Week on the Rock- under ABOUT US in the headings - to see our current activities and projects that you may participate in, from worship, a fellowship event, a study session to a project that helps the people of our community.
With the retirement of our minister, Rev. Dawn Vaneyk, last year, we have entered a transitional phase as we prepare for new ministry, with worship services offered by a group of guest leaders.
St. Peter’s United Church, in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a full-time minister. The minister, in covenant with God, our congregation, and our Regional Council, will provide leadership and support for our church’s vision, mission, goals and priorities. Our ideal candidate will be an adventurous, energetic, inspirational leader. They will be an accomplished preacher, enthusiastic team player, and supportive ministerial colleague who will explore God's call with us as we move out of transition. We are the whole people of God at St. Peter’s United Church. One member puts it this way: “We are a welcoming, affirming, and creative bunch of believers where everyone — from the littlest kids to the oldest old folks — love to share adventures, stories and tasty treats as we delight in our faith and in each other.” Financially strong, St. Peter’s has been a designated affirming congregation since 2013, we are committed to social justice, and we work toward reconciliation.
