Nesting Agreement between St. Peter’s and St. Mark’s
As of September 1st, 2025, the sister congregations of St. Peter’s and St. Mark’s, both within the United Church of Canada, have entered a four-month (Sep-Dec 2025) agreement of shared ministry and shared space that calls us to cooperatively work together.
We have agreed to share the services of the Minister, Rev. Kathy Dahmer, Sunday worship services, music, children’s program, fellowship time and space in the St. Peter’s building.
The first joint service will take place on Sunday, September 14th followed by a Welcome BBQ hosted by the St. Peter’s Feeding the Spirit Team.
An exciting new venture for both congregations!
Have you wondered what a picnic table is doing inside St. Peter’s?

Your 100 Tables Team, comprising of Leslie and Holly Slusar and myself, and assisted by Bruce Holson and Rob Gunn, undertook this project earlier this summer.
The Place at the Table Project was initiated by our National Church to mark the church’s centennial. We are asked to reimagine Da Vinci’s Last Supper as a representation of our faith community: one committed to welcoming people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences.
We were invited to be one of a 100 churches who received monies to buy a picnic table and supplies and decorate it with a specific theme of who we are. We were also encouraged to promote through social and more traditional media our table. This story is the first we want to share.
Our table reflects a “Being” of who we have and continue to be and new ways for us to be and hopefully grow as a community of faith. Symbols of our faith, call and service are evident as well as links to our community. While it is historical, it is also current with art representing our current nesting project with St. Mark’s.
As the weather changes next year expect to see this table outside for our neighbours to enjoy.
As we evolve as a community of faith, images on the Table can and will change, but our faith remains.
Please, share this good news with your friends and family. More information on this initiative can be found on the United Church website.
